Bygdabilly Band på iTunes og TV
Jon og Ken-Børre spiller i Bygdabilly Band, som skrev platekontrakt med Warner Music sommeren 2005.
Radiosingelen den feite dama mi fra den kommende plata lå bl.a 5 uker på Norsktoppen. Den kan nå lastes ned fra iTunes. Radiosingelen Fiskekunstnar'n har i lengre tid vært b-listet på NRK P1, se video til låta på TVNordland (velg Fiskekunstnar'n nederst i rammen).
Plata kommer i butikkene 23.01.2006. Bygdabilly on tv and (norwegian) iTunesJon and Ken appears in Bygdabilly Band. Their first album on Warner Music is released January 23 2006. The radio single Fiskekunstnar'n (The fishin' artist) has for quite some time now been playlisted on Norways biggest radio channel NRK P1, see video for the song at TVNordland (choose Fiskekunstnar'n in the menu line at bottom of new frame). The video apperas after a short introduction in norwegian.
The radio single den feite dama mi from the coming album stayed at norwegian radio hit show Norsktoppen for 5 weeks.
On Den feite dama mi fiddle and lap steel is added to Byggdabilly Band, it's a happy, old style, swingy country song with a touch of ragtime. The song is originally written by Merle Travis (fat gal). It can be downloaded at norwegian iTunes. Feel free to ask for the song at your national iTunes site.

Hank's a lot medlem av EBMA
Hank's a lot har blitt medlem av EBMA (European Bluegrass Music Association).
Bandet har vel ikke akkurat blitt et bluegrassorkester, men saken henger sammen med at Hank's a lot har vakt en smule interesse i slike miljøer utenfor Norge. Hank's a lot becomes EBMA membersHank's a lot has become members of EBMA (European Bluegrass Music Association), due to a certain interest in our project from abroad.
This does not mean that Hank's a lot is suddenly considered a bluegrass band, but Bill's bluegrass and Hank's honky tonk is related in many ways.

Bygdabilly Band på Norsktoppen
Jon og Ken-Børre spiller også i bygdabilly band, som sist lørdag kom inn som utfordrere på Norsktoppen på P1. Vil du stemme på låta "Den feite dama mi", klikk her. Stemmer kan gis fra etter sending (lørdag 18.05) til tirsdag kl 11.00 for hver runde.
Stem bare en gang fra hver pc, ellers blir alle stemmene slettet. Det er også mulig å stemme på tlf 82947200 dersom du vet plassseringen til Bygdabilly Band på Norsktoppen.

Moro på bluegrassfestival
Flott stemning og utrolig mange flotte band i Risør i helga. Hank's a lot spilte et sett med bare norske tekster, men ble likevel intervjuet på nederlandsk radio av en entusiastisk Loek Lamers som håpet vi ville komme til EWOB-festivalen i Nederland til neste år. Fun at Risør BluegrassfestivalGreat fun and lots of great musicians and bands in Risør this weekend. Hank's a lot played exclusively songs with norwegian lyrics, but was still interviewed by Loek Lamers, a very entusiastic dutch bluegrass radio reporter who wanted Hank's a lot to come to the EWOB-festival. Well, if the festival likes our not exactly bluegrass demo and Hank's a lot can apply to a foreign audience with norwegian Hank, sure we'll go :-)

Reporter Hege Siri says something like: in a full Krossen Pub Hank's a lot played unbelievably well together, and performed song after song in nostalgic backglimpse with melancoly undertones.

HAL-medlemmer fikk kontrakt med Warner!
Jon og Ken-Børre spiller også i Bygdabilly Band, som har skrevet kontrakt med Warner Music. Den første radiosingelen heter "Den feite dama mi", plata kommer til høsten. HAL members signs for Warner!Jon and Ken-Børre also plays in Bygdabilly Band, which has today agreed terms with Warner Music. The first record will be released this fall.

NRK Urørt
Du kan nå lese om Hank's a lot på NRK Urørt. Risør Bluegrassfestival
Flere av medlemmene i Hank's a lot spiller i bluegrassbandet BøGras. i år er både BøGras og Hank's a lot invitert til Risør Bluegrassfestival - begge bandene spiller på festivalens første dag, fredag 15. juli. Risør Bluegrass FestivalHank's a lot is invited to play at Risør Bluegrassfestival July 15. Ken and Anders is the same evening doing a concert at the festival with the bluegrass band BøGras.

Robert Ackerman om Hank's a lot
Robert Ackerman er redaktør for en populær email-liste for Hank Williams-fans. Han har gledelig nok interesse for Hank's a lot! Newsletter: Robert Ackerman, April 18.ATTENTION HANK FANS - Tom Lipscombe's Alabama Talk Line has some contacts concerning a Norwegian group by the name of "Hanks A Lot" (check the March 31st entry) (and in my opinion you will be hearing a lot about them in the future). What makes these guys so special is that they ONLY do Hank Williams songs! Check out their web site at www.hanksalot.com - They don't have a CD made as of right now but they do expect to have one for sale in the future, but you can hear clips of their songs on their web site. You are encouraged to sign their guest book while on their web site to let them know what you think of their music and its concept. The group's Ken-Børre Langås advised that he is checking to see if all the guest book
entries can be shown in both Norwegian and English.

Hello Ken. Thanks so much for sending the CD. I have listened to it and thoroughly enjoyed it. You guys did a great job on Hank's songs. Every musician sounds really good. Tell Jon that he sounds really good to be just a beginner playing steel. I hope he keeps practicing because it sounds like he can be a very fine steel guitar player.
I sure would love to meet you guys and hear you play in person and I hope that one day you will go into a recording studio and make a great CD. If you do, PLEASE, send me a copy. I can't wait to go to the Hank Williams Museum here in Montgomery tomorrow and tell them that I have a CD from a small band in Norway who did a practice session doing five of Hank's songs and how good it sounds. I know they will be excited to know this. I received two CD's last year from a band in Japan that does Hank Williams songs and they sounded really good also. I will always treasure all the CD's or records I get from overseas. I will not let anyone copy your CD but I may let them listen to it just to let them know that there are Hank Williams Fans all over the world, but Norway - man, this is something.

Moro i Setesdal
Konserten på Valle motell 08.04 ble en hyggelig opplevelse, med et stort, engasjert publikum som tydelig satte pris på Hank´s musikk. De mest entusiastiske kom ens ærend fra Lindesnes (4 timer i bil), og kjørte ned igjen samme natt! Great time in SetesdalGreat night in Valle in Setesdal, where we did a concert for an enthusiastic audience april 08. Some had been driving for 4 hours to hear Hank´s a Lot, and drove home the same night! Wow!

- Mr. Porter played with Hank Williams from 1941-1944, and is a true Drifting Cowboy - he left us the message above at Alabama Talk Line .

Vår første konsert 23. mars!
Da er det bare en uke til Hank's a lot's første konsert. Vi spille på country-aften på Bø Vertshus i Bø onsdag 23. mars. Boots Band fra Notodden spiller oppe, og vi spiller nede. Dette blir knall folkens, så ta en tur på Grillen natt til skjærtorsdag!
